Ceea ce si incerc sa fac aici. Actiunea promite sa fie o mega-actiune, in 20 Aprilie suprapunandu-se ISAN 6 organizat de ,,Sidewalk Astronomers'' cu ,,Global StarParty''/un Star- Party planetar organizat de AWB adica ,,Astronomer's Without Borders'' si cu Astronomy Day. Dati-le-ncolo de fite,fasoane,campanii,sponsorizari,organizari,comisii,comitete bla bla bla... Pur si simplu pregatiti-va telescoapele,chemati-va prietenii si iesiti pe strada in 20 Aprilie pentru observatii publice. Va fi fain,va fi distractiv! The Sidewalk Astronomer Newsletter of the Sidewalk Astronomers March 2013 Dear Mircea, We're back... We know that it's been awhile since a newsletter has been sent and we apologize. If anyone is interested in helping with the newsletter, please contact us because obviously we need some help. JOHN DOBSON'S 95th BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION We'll be celebrating John's 95th brithday with a day long event at Griffith Observatory on Sept 18th. In true sidewalk fashion, we'll be building at 12" telescope to use for observing the Moon that evening as part of the International Observe the Moon celebration. There will be hands-on grinding for the public and any amateurs who want to get a work out. We'll also be assembling the mount so that everyone can see the entire telescope building process for themself. ISAN 6 Please join us for another great universal star party on April 20th and take part in ISAN 6. This year we will be partnering once again with Astronomer's Without Borders and joining ISAN with AWB's Global Star Party. April 20th is also Astronomy Day, so everyone should already be planning activities. We know that it is sometimes difficult to have ISAN on Astronomy Day but there are only so many Saturday nights near first quarter in the spring and if we wait later in the year, it gets harder for those in many parts of the year. He made an appearance at the Pacific Astronomy Telescope Show (PATS) in September to celebrate his birthday and he was very entertaining. If you plan to be the Los Angeles area, he always welcomes visitors. Just let us know when you are coming and we can arrange for you to spend some time with him. GLOBAL ASTRONOMY MONTH IS HERE!! April as always is AWB's Global Astronomy Month (GAM). There are lots of activities for clubs or individual amateurs, teachers, enthusiasts and students. Una din actiunile la care se poate participa individual foarte bine,tot de pe aceeasi lista ,sunt cele doua evaluari ale poluarii luminoase ,,Globe at Night''. Eu personal am sa incep sa-i caut pe prietenii din Arad pentru a pregati impreuna ISAN 6. Si individual ,daca va fi senin,voi trimite observatii si la ,,Globe at Night'' la care nu am mai participat cam demultisor. Sunt curios daca aceste lucruri mai intereseaza si pe altcineva? Mircea Mircea, aici sunt total de aceeasi parere! ----------------------------------- Mircea Pteancu 21 Apr 2013 16:56 ----------------------------------- Sambata 20 Aprilie ,cu ocazia ISAN 6 adica International Sidewalk Astronomy Night editia 6,Emil Pasculescu si subsemnatul am sustinut o sesiune publica de observatii, incepand de la ora 21:00 ,pe platoul din fata Primariei Arad. Au fost folosite instrumentele deja consacrate,telescopul Bird-Jones de 114mm al lui Emil pe montura ecuatoriala si dobsonianeul meu de 125mm F/7. Au fost observate Luna trecuta de faza de Prim Patrar ,Jupiter cu satelitii galileeni,steaua dubla Castor in Gemenii si sistemul multiplu Mizar-Alcor. Au fost folosite grosismente de pana la 110x. Din partea publicului au participat intre 60 si 75 persoane /telescop deci un total aflat undeva intre 120 si 150 de persoane,o numaratoare exacta ar fi fost aproape imposibil de tinut,nu in putine momente participarea fiind de-a dreptul tumultuoasa. Emil Pasculescu a fost insotit de sotia sa ,d-na Aurica iar eu am fost insotit de Silviu K.,de colegul de serviciu Codru R. si de catre Sergiu. Dupa ora 21:00,cand lucrurile s-au linistit,am observat ,mai ales impreuna cu Silviu K., planeta Saturn,Epsilon Bootis,Porrima si roiul stelar deschis M44 din Racul. Silviu K. este astronom amator incepator,are deja in dotare o mica luneta Celestron si si-a confectionat o planisfera a cerului instelat. Actiunea nu a fost anuntata in prealabil,fiind organizata si desfasurata ad-hoc,fara sponzori,comitete,responsabili etc si cu toate acestea consider ca a avut succes. Am sa revin cu poze ,deindata ce reusesc sa le descarc. Mircea
