In articolul cu structura hexagonala (ce este mai mult un experiment "proof of concept") nu se pomeneste de recoacere, ci doar o racire controlata de la 1050 la 90°F ( adica de la 565 °C la 32 °C) pe timp de 3 zile. Chiar si asa raman problemele descrise mai jos:

Then there have been numerous problems encountered while figuring. I have fought a persistent turned down edge, holes in the center, peaks in the center, uncooperative zones, and a general refusal of the mirror to respond properly to normal figuring strokes on a full-size lap the same way a solid mirror does.
