What are the specifications for an AC adapter that will work with Celestron’s GOTO mounts?
12VDC output
2.5 amps (2500 milliamps) current output
Inside tip positive
Inside diameter is 2.1mm
Outside diameter is 5.5mm
Jack length 10-15mm
Some smaller mounts might work with adapters with less amperage output.  Our largest, newest mount , the CGE Pro, works best with adapters delivering 3.5 amps maximum or higher.

Celestron GOTO mounts need 12 volts direct current power to work at their best. Voltages that are too low may turn on the hand control but will either not run the motors or lead to erratic behavior. Voltages that are too high can damage the electronics or even cause burning of the circuit boards.  :!:
