This is my opinion:

Stellarium needs 3D acceleration, so you need a laptop that use OpenGL acceleration. Most of modern laptops has an integrated video card that supports it. If it runs with 1fps it means that these driver could not be installed (in this case stellarium use software rendering, much more slower).
Ceva ceva este cu buba, totusi in Google Earth exista un simulator 3D cu teren, avion, etc. Tot OpenGL cred ca foloseste (sau poate directx?) si merge perfect.
